Researcher, consultant, writer, and linguist working across Asia.

M. Ramin Mansoori is a research scholar at the Center for Governance and Markets at the University of Pittsburgh. He holds a PhD in Comparative Politics and International Studies from Peking University and previously served as a lecturer in the Chinese Language Department at Kabul University.

His work focuses on China's foreign policy, Afghanistan, Central and South Asia, nation-building, national identity, geopolitics, security studies, and great power competition. His current research explores China's engagement with Afghanistan under Taliban 2.0 and the historical Afghan (Durrani)–China (Qing) rivalry in Central Asia during the mid-eighteenth century.

Beyond academic work, this website also serves as a personal space for writing, photography, travel reflections, and memories connected to the places, cultures, and communities that have shaped his perspective.
